There is an optional Advanced Choir rehearsal tomorrow (Friday) morning for those who would like to participate in our sing-a-long. The Advanced Choir will not rehearse next Tuesday. Also, Nothing but Treble will not rehearse Monday morning. We will start again after the Winter Break.
Cheering practice is canceled.
Yearbook is canceled today! Next meeting will be after vacation.
8th Grade Math Team will not meet today.
Congratulations BJHS Math Teams!
We have some exciting results to share from our first competition of the year. In Grade 6, the team came in 12th place out of twenty teams. Stellar performances were displayed from Nick Johnson, Michaela Davis, Lucy Russell, Olive DeSimio, William Boutwell, and Kay Lloyd. They earned one of the highest scores in the arithmetic portion of the competition. Nick Johnson earned an individual high score by earning 36 points which landed him a third place trophy! Well done to all the brave 6th grade contestants.
Second, our Grade 7 team finished in SECOND place out of another twenty teams enrolled in the meet! Amazing scores came from Jack Doyle, Jacob Fallis, Kayla Chen, Eliza Peterson, Sean Funderbrook, Ryan Livesay, Alex Cameron, James Gardner, Brendon Drake, Areesha Khan, and Lauren Livesay. The team scored a perfect score in the Team Round. Also, shout out to Sean Funderburk for coming in 5th place in the overall individual high scores. He earned 27 total points. Another fabulous performance from our BJHS students.
Lastly, Grade 8 finished in the top ten coming in at 8th place out of 18 other teams. Their strength was shown in the geometry portion of competition. Such a strong showing from Cece Smith, Alden Haynes, Jonathan Bisson, Ian Wiley, Levi Prince, and Zunairah Khan. Congratulations to all of our motivated math students!
