  • The Maine Excellence in Arts Education showcase is a statewide event that highlights student artwork.

  • Jay Ackley Grade 12 and Kayla Chen Grade 9 have had their artwork selected by a panel of professional artists to be displayed at this prestigious location.

  • The exhibit is a collaboration between the Maine Arts Commission (a state agency supporting the arts), MECA&D (Maine College of Art & Design), the Scholastic Art & Literary Awards, and Maine's two congressional offices. These organizations provided access to submissions from various art competitions to select the showcased pieces.

  • The exhibit will run from March 12 to May 30, 2025, and will feature artwork from students across the state.

It’s a wonderful honor for Jay Ackley and Kayla Chen to have their work selected for this exhibition at the Capitol!
