It's that time of year again! The BHS Chamber Choir, Treble Choir, and Tenor/Bass are holding auditions for next year's ensembles! Auditions will take place WEDNESDAY - MONDAY: March 12th - 17th. If you are interested in being a part of one of these auditioned choirs, please sign up for an audition using this link, or the QR code on the attached flyer!

It is the same audition for Chamber, Treble, and Tenor/Bass Choir! Chamber and Treble Choir run as honors-level classes during the school day. The tenor/Bass Choir will run as an extra-curricular activity for next year, meeting outside of the school day.

Auditions are open to all current BHS students and all incoming 8th graders who will be with us next year. There are no prerequisites for the audition; all that is required is to prepare 30 seconds to a minute of your favorite song! Mrs. Albert will lead you through the rest!

The Chamber and Treble Choir are Brunswick High School's Honors Choirs, which perform in our BHS Chorus Concerts and travel for trips and festivals abroad. They have performed throughout the Brunswick community and the state of Maine, as well as in New York City, Washington D.C., Disney World, and even Fenway Park! If you enjoy singing and performing, this is the place for you! Singers of all levels are encouraged to audition!

If you would like to be a part of the BHS Choirs but do not want to go through the audition process, add Concert Choir to your schedule for next year! All are welcome, and no audition is necessary! There is a place for everyone who wants to sing at BHS!

Don't hesitate to get in touch with Mrs. Albert with any questions! aalbert@brunswicksd.org

Voting is now open! If you've read at least 3 of this year's North Star YA nominees, stop by the BHS Library through the month of March to vote for your favorite! Your vote will be tallied with votes from other teens across the State of Maine and the winner will be announced in early April!

Stop by the BHS Library to vote and to add your name to the North Star bulletin board to win a prize in our raffle!

There's a FREE event on Saturday, April 5th at Wiscasset Middle High School, where kids get on-the-spot introductions to up to 39 outdoor passions!  Mark your calendars and get the word out to your friends, family & colleagues!  Event flyer attached.  56 volunteers will introduce them to fly casting, metal detecting, outdoors preparedness, kayaking, foraging, disc golf, scuba diving & many, many, many more!

***This is not a Maine school program. Passion For Life has partnered with WMHS, other non-profits, individuals & businesses to help our kids and communities thrive! It is entirely paid for by our generous donors!***

RESCHEDULED!

DUE TO THE SNOW DAY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR MARCH 11th.

"For most of the parents I talk to, their stories don’t center on any diagnosed mental illness. Instead, there is an underlying worry that something unnatural is going on, and that their children are missing something—really, almost everything—as their online hours accumulate."

- The Anxious Generation

Please join the Brunswick High School Community on Tuesday March 11th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the High School Library for a discussion of Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation. We will talk about the book's themes, current research, and about creating a healthy learning environment for our students. All Brunswick community members are welcome. There is no requirement that you have read the book.  Please contact Hugh Dwyer (hdwyer@brunswicksd.org) with any questions.   Thanks and we look forward to seeing you!

Please park in the front parking lot and enter through the front doors. The library is straight ahead (around the stairway). Someone will be there to greet you.

Brunswick Bike and Pedestrian Committee Fellow

Brunswick High Schoolers,

Do you ride your bike to school? Are you interested in representing your fellow student cyclists in the pursuit of safe routes to school, all while earning community service hours? Consider becoming a student representative to the BBPAC Safe Routes to School committee. We meet on Zoom once every 2 months, and more often when the weather is nice and we are planning an event (Bike/Walk to School Days, or table representation at community events). Your voices are an integral part of the change we’d like to see made to Brunswick streets. Your advocacy matters; join us. Contact Eric Funderburk <efunderburk@brunswicksd.org> for more information.
