No Dungeons and Dragons meeting today after school (Thursday, November 7th). Members, please plan for a meeting after school on Tuesday, November 12th. 


Brunswick Reads

 Wednesday the 13th during Flex! 

On Tuesday during Flex, the Library is hosting a "Book Tasting" and invites students to come sample a variety of new books in different genres! There will be prizes and refreshments!


Free tickets - sign up at the main office . 

Alternatively, prices are 12 dollars for students, 17 dollars for adults and 15 dollars for seniors at the door. We hope you enjoy this classic! 


Yearbook will continue to be meeting during Flex blocks on Tuesday and Fridays. 


Art Opportunity/ Fashion Design:

Students interested in participating in JUNK KOUTURE in the global fashion design competition should see Mrs. Driscoll at Flex on Friday 11/8 to sign up or send an email. Their mission is: TO ENRICH AND EMPOWER THE LIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH CREATIVITY AND SUSTAINABILITY.  Since our beginning, we've challenged students to create wearable designs from recycled materials, celebrating creative and innovative talent while driving behavioral change toward sustainability, creating the changemakers of tomorrow, and ensuring inclusivity and diversity is at the cornerstone of everything that we do. The BHS National Honors Society is hosting a family 5k Fun Run on Sunday Nov. 17th at 9am at BHS!  No fee is required to race, but all donations will go to Maine Coast Heritage Trust.

Winter Registration is now LIVE. You would have received an email from BHS Athletics with details about sport season dates, and how to register. If you have questions please contact Ms. Maines or Ms. Phillips in the Athletic Office.


There will be an Indoor Track Signup Meeting in the back of the cafeteria during Flex on Tuesday November 12th. Please come to the meeting if you are interested in Indoor Track or if you are already signed up! 


Girls Basketball:

Informational meeting on Friday, 11/8, during Flex in rm 104 (Mr. Farrell's room) for all girls who want to play basketball this winter.

The Brunswick Downtown Association is excited to announce that the Bed Races are just around the corner, taking place on November 9th. This event promises to be a fun-filled day, and we need your help to make it a success!

We have various volunteer slots available, from setting up and managing race logistics to cheering on our brave competitors. Whether you can spare a few hours or the whole day, your participation is invaluable.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Arts Are Elementary board is once again having their annual fundraiser called Cahoots. The date has been changed to November 9 from 10-1 at Harriett Beecher Stowe School gym. I am looking for 10-15 teenage volunteers to help with set up, clean up, and what ever happens in between! We will have 2 shifts for those who can’t commit to being there the entire time. Those shifts are 9-11:30 and 11:30-2. Please sign up here

Students, are you interested in a summer study abroad experience? CIEE Global Navigator high school summer abroad programs take you outside your comfort zone for 3 to 8 weeks. Have fun exploring a different culture in more than 35 amazing destinations across the world. Bring back new friends, new skills, a broader worldview, and maybe even college credits in high school! A representative will be here from CIEE along with two BHS students who participated last summer to talk more about the program and their experiences on November 12th during the flex period in the cafeteria.

Please virtually join CIEE’s Britt Canner on Thursday, November 14 at 6:30 pm to learn about CIEE’s High School Summer Abroad programs and Global Navigator Scholarship opportunities. You will also hear from 2024 alumni and teachers who observed CIEE’s programs!

Each year CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) is given $7 million in funding for high school students to spend 3-4 weeks of their summer studying abroad. Students can earn partial and full scholarships for their program tuition based on merit + need. Last year, CIEE awarded $610,000 in scholarships to high school students all over New England!

CIEE offers two types of High School Summer Abroad programs:

  1. Language & Culture: 4-week immersion programs offered in Chinese, Arabic, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese. College Credits from Tulane University are available too!

  1. Theme Based: 3-week immersion programs offered in STEM, leadership, sports, fashion, animal conservation, sustainability, robotics and more.
