The Varsity Field Hockey’s season came to an end Wednesday night with a 0-2 loss to 3rd seed Messolonskee in the Class A North State quarterfinal game. First quarter saw a 0-0 tie, but Messo scored with 5 minutes left in second quarter. Brunswick’s defensive unit of Ruby Hill, Hailie Morton, Brooke Bryant, Nieve Logan, Stella Maxim, Skyler Augustine and goalie Ella Duchette held strong, but the Eagles scored again in the third quarter. Brunswick’s offense came out charging in the fourth quarter with an immediate penalty corner, and shots from Ava Wolverton, Paige Botts and Quinn McCormack. So many close ones, but none over the line.
Congratulations to the Brunswick Field Hockey team for a season to “Believe!”
