This year’s guests are two women from Kenya, including Juliet Muema, a visually impaired para-cyclist. Their focus is empowering women and girls with disabilities across Africa. Varsity Field Hockey faced Mt. Ararat on Tuesday.

The Dragons hit the scoreboard first when Ava Wolverton cleared the right side defenders and fired the goal to stroke, where Paige Botts finished with a beautiful one-touch deflection for a goal. MTA answered quickly with a goal to start the second half, but the tireless midfield play of Brooke Barter, Nieve Logan, Skyler Augustine and Stella Maxim kept the Eagles away in the fourth quarter. The rivals played out regulation time to a 1-1 tie, with Ella Duchette saving 15 shots on goal. Overtime moved to 7v7, and despite some quick pressure by the Dragons, Mt. Ararat snuck one in.

A tough finish to a great game. Thanks to all who came to support field hockey!
