May 10, 2024
Dear Brunswick High School Community,
Brunswick High School’s 2023-2024 Final Exams will take place June 7 – June 13 (daily schedule below). Exams will be administered to all students in grades 9-11. During finals week, teachers will provide a final exam (essay, multiple choice, etc.) or final experience (project, performance, etc.). The specific assessment format will be determined by the classroom teacher. Final course grades along with other data will help guidance counselors and administrators identify students who could benefit from additional time over the summer to complete and pass their course(s). Here are some additional important details about final exam week:
Prior to exam day, teachers will review with each class all material that will be assessed on the final exam.
Teachers will provide a final exam review sheet for each course.
Teachers will review with their class how the final exam impacts the final course grade.
Students are required to attend school only when they have an exam.
Bus transportation will be provided in the morning and at 11:30 a.m. when students are dismissed each day. A student may leave prior to 11:30 a.m. dismissal with parent permission. Please have your student drop off a parental note at the main office in the morning. The afternoon bus will depart each day at 2:15 p.m.
The cafeteria and library will be open for quiet study and for students awaiting dismissal.
Region 10 classes will not take place during final exams.
Snacks are available during break time and a bag lunch upon dismissal.
Ms. Kundhardt and Ms. Vogel will provide stress management activities like playdough, games, coloring, and walks with Elmer (our therapy dog) throughout the day.
The final exam/experience will take place during the period scheduled for that class. If a student has an excused absence for the appointed exam period, please contact the teacher via phone or e-mail to reschedule.
If school is canceled for some reason, the exam schedule will be adjusted to the following day. On a day when school is canceled for whatever reason, the exams scheduled for that day will take place on the next school day (e.g. exams scheduled for Monday, June 10 will take place on Tuesday, June 11).
