WindowDressers is looking for volunteers! Come help out with a great project during the week of Nov. 23rd! We are a Maine nonprofit that, together with local community volunteers, builds insulating window inserts for homes. They make home interiors cozier, reduce heat loss, and save the homeowners money on their heating bills.
The inserts are put together at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Pleasant Street. The assembly work is taught at the beginning of each shift - there are about 6 different jobs involved in putting them together, and typically a volunteer does the same job for the entire shift. All materials, tools and jigs are supplied. We have an informal lunch between 12 and 1pm between the day shifts for anyone helping, and we have one evening shift on Wednesday from 6 until 9 with pizza available. To get involved, please register and sign up for a specific shift here.
