STUDENTS - PLEASE GO TO YOUR FLEX FOR ATTENDANCE BEFORE GOING TO YOUR ACTIVITIES/ASSEMBLIES!
Attention Students--Are you interested in being matched with a Bowdoin College student? BHS students will meet their mentor at BHS right after school once a week for approximately an hour. Ask Mrs. Ring in the counseling office for more information. Students enrolled will receive community service hours needed for graduation.
The Brunswick High School late bus service will begin on Monday, September 18. The bus will depart B.H.S. promptly at 3:45 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday when school is in session. To ride the late bus, students will need to secure a blue late bus pass from their teacher or the main office. For any questions regarding the late bus, please contact the Transportation Department at 319-1904.
Ms. Kunhardt wanted to remind you, or inform you if you are new to BHS, of the amazing organization that our unique community has in place for our families called The Emergency Action Network (TEAN). TEAN has supported families in a plethora of ways in our community. They have been known to help people get to the dump, get furniture and clothing after a fire, help with transportation, sports equipment, etc... One avenue of support that they also help maintain is The Thrift. The Thrift is a clothing and hygiene product closet, located next to the mailroom, here at BHS. Everything in the Thrift is donated so we can provide needed necessities to our students for free. The concept is that in efforts to eliminate stigma around need, The Thrift is for EVERYONE, donate and take like a revolving closet. It will be open and manned by Ms. Kunhardt and the club members during Flex on TUESDAYS, so students with a pass can come down to shop/donate then. It is also possible for any staff member to bring a student anytime. Please do not send students without an adult present. A key can be found in the front office. If what you need is not found in the Thrift, TEAN will either purchase or find donations for what is needed. It's easy, no paperwork involved, just communicate those needs to me and as the TEAN liaison, we will get the student what they need. Needs can look like sporting equipment, beds and linens, taxi rides to court, moving trucks, alarm clocks, art supplies, etc. If you have any questions, student needs or donations, please reach out to Ms. Kunhardt via email mkunhardt@brunswicksd.org.
The Math Team will be starting up on Tuesday, September 5th in Mr. Porter's classroom at 2:15. If you are unable to make the first meeting, please see Mr. Porter or Mr. Choate. Be there, or be a plane figure with 4 congruent sides and 4 right angles.
Freeport Fall Festival Needs Volunteers! Due to changes in property ownership, we have a new Festival site this year which will make this the LARGEST Freeport Fall Festival ever. Plus we've added a FREE shuttle on Sat & Sun! There are more ways than ever to help make Freeport shine during this hugely popular event.
