The next BHS Parent/Guardian Forum will take place on Thursday, September 24 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm and will occur via Zoom link. This forum will be an opportunity to share further information with you about the school year and answer any questions. Brunswick School Department is pleased to announce that the Maine Principals Association released an updated plan that allows for High School athletics to begin with, the exception of football and volleyball. We recognize that participation in High School athletics has known health benefits, including promoting physical fitness and the mental well being of our students. Mr. Ramich, our athletic director, will be developing protocols that adhere to the MPA guidelines to ensure a safe return to athletics. Practices may begin on Monday, September 14, 2020, and schedules are being developed and will be shared as soon as possible. Lastly, we also want to acknowledge the impact and disappoint the decision not to allow High School football and volleyball has created. However, we are exploring alternative methods of play that adhere to MPA guidelines. Please stay tuned for more information. #GoDragons

Socially distanced pathway from family drop off point at Kate Furbish School is all ready for students to arrive.

This is an important message about Daily Health Screenings for Brunswick students. The Maine Department of Education requires that all parents conduct daily health assessments of their child(ren) before boarding the school bus or entering a school building. By sending your child to school, you are indicating that you have conducted the health assessment that determines it is safe to send your child to school. The district is finalizing a mobile app to conduct these screenings which should go live soon. Distance Learning Students Chromebooks and wifi devices are currently being distributed to students enrolled in Full Distance Learning who requested them. Distribution is at the Coffin School on 9/10/20 and 9/11/20 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Computer-based learning will begin on 9/14/20.. Hybrid Learning Students Students in grades PreK - 5 will be trained in the use of iPads or Chromebooks during the first two weeks of school. Devices will not be distributed to those who request them until the week of 9/28/20. Students will not be required to have or use devices at home until these devices are distributed. Students in grade 6 will be trained in the use of Chromebooks during the first two weeks of school. Devices will also be distributed to grade 6 students who request them during their scheduled classes in the week of 9/14/20. Students will not be required to have or use devices at home until these devices are distributed. Students in grades 7-8 will receive MLTI computers and requested wifi devices during their scheduled classes in the week of 9/14/20.
