Dear Staff, Students, and Families:

This letter is to inform you that four students at Brunswick High School recently tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). These latest cases do not require contact tracing due to the dates of exposures occurring after the beginning of the December break.

It should be noted that with every positive COVID-19 case, the district works directly with Maine DOE/CDC to determine the infectious period and contact tracing requirements, based on the impacted individual’s last day of attendance at school before developing symptoms or testing positive. Regardless of the determination around the need to quarantine, the district has made a commitment to transparency and will continue to report positive cases, whether further action is needed or not.

All COVID-19 cases and related information in the district are made available to the public at the BSD COVID-19 Resources page at the following link:

Questions for the school can be directed to:

Principal Troy Henninger, thenninger@brunswicksd.org or Jenny Strout, jstrout@brunswicksd.org School Nurse at 319-1910.

For general COVID-19 questions, dial 211 (or 1-866-811-5695).  You can also text your ZIP code to 898-211 or email info@211maine.org.  Call a health care provider for questions about your symptoms.  More information can be found at www.maine.gov/dhhs/coronavirus and www.cdc.gov/coronavirus

Sincerely,

Phillip J. Potenziano, Ed.D.
